Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge is in a quiet & secluded location, surrounded by cloud forest, and offers 18 separate cabins, each with a private porch. Each cabin also has a private bathroom and hot water. This Costa Rican hotel has 70 acres of private property containing primary and secondary forest, and miles of private trails where you can find more than 180 species of birds. Read a book, take a deep breath of fresh cloud forest air, and watch for colorful birds and the abundant wild life only a few steps away from your cabin.

The  Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge has a Bar & Restaurant Overlooking the Cloud Forest and the Gulf of Nicoya. Every meal is prepared by our local cooks using only natural ingredients and condiments. Bread is baked every day and our granola and fruit jam is the best in Monteverde. Fresh dairy products, rice and beans, tortillas and local fruit are part of our balanced died, together with choices of beef, chicken, fish and pasta. Box lunches are available.

A cloud forest is a highland forest characterized by nearly 100% humidity throughout the year. Here in Monteverde, warm North-Easterly trade winds, filled with moisture, blow in over the Atlantic. As the winds sweep up to the Continental divide, they cool and condense to form clouds, bathing the forest in a constant soft mist.
